Firefox Focus is a web browser developed by Mozilla, which aims to provide its users with the securest possible browsing experience. Unlike normal web browsers, it does not contain the standard features, such as bookmarks or tabs. Naturally, it also does not remember your passwords. It doesn't even store your cookies or do anything of the sort. With this, it is like browsing from a new app whenever you want.
Simple and secure browsing
Firefox Focus works to improve the privacy and performance of your browsing experience by blocking analytics, social, and advertising trackers. On top of blocking trackers, it also tells you how many it blocked. Moreover, in the setup options, you can manage the blockers you want to activate or deactivate, and set your preferred engine. You can even change the language for easier usage.
As noted, the app does not come with standard browsing features such as bookmarks and tabs. All the websites you visited will be deleted upon closing the app. However, you can view a webpage from Firefox Focus in a regular Firefox browser if you want to save a webpage. You only need to tap the share button at the bottom of the screen. You can also share the webpage with other apps installed on your device. If you wish to erase all information about your session without closing the app, you can click the erase button beside the URL bar.
On top of providing you with private browsing, Firefox Focus also offers faster loading and lower data usage. This is because the app blocks some parts of web pages from loading. However, it is not recommended as a primary browser, since you won’t be able to save important data. Moreover, it is prone to glitches that will require you to close the app or delete the information of your session.
Good for personal browsing
If you want to browse without the app tracking your activity, then Firefox Focus is a recommended app for you. The app works just like an incognito browser in the sense that it does not keep a log of your cookies and other trackers. With this, web pages are faster to load. However, this app is not suitable as a primary browser since all information is deleted at the end of every session. Moreover, its performance is not that stable due to various bug issues.
